The gift that just keeps giving.

Hi everyone, Angus Pryor here, Australia’s number one Google-ranked dental marker.

Firstly, I’m just showing you a gift because someone very kindly sent it to us after we won a national award, the Australian dental industry associations marketing award. So thank you to Zohal for that lovely gift.
But the purpose of this message is around you creating sort of something that is the gift that just keeps giving now here is a statement from my bank. And it’s a bank in the US. And a number of years ago, I wrote this book, Amazon, number one best seller. And then subsequent to writing the book, I also recorded an audiobook. And what this bank statement shows for me, is deposits that I get every month, which are royalties from that book, and indeed, from the audiobook, interestingly enough, it seems to me that the audiobook is more popular now than the physical book, just a little thing. And it just got me thinking,

Well, what about you worried about the gift that keeps giving for you? I mean, to give you an idea for those royalties, what have I had to do for that money to go into my account? And the answer is absolutely nothing. Like I haven’t literally done nothing, I’ve set it up, and people buy it, they obviously get some value from what a nice send, you know, Amazon puts money into my account, like what a system.

And what I did in that process is the process I want to describe to you, which is to take something that you can do to your knowledge, and put it into another place where other people can use it, and then you just keep getting deposited into your bank account. Wouldn’t that be nice? So look, I’ve come up with a few ideas. The first one, there is a course I’ve got book there. The first ones are Courses. So I mean, there will be things about there’s our award, there will at one of them, there will be things about your field that you know that you could put into, for example, an online format where people would pay to know that and the beauty is once you set it up, you don’t need to record it again. And they could pay for that. So that’s one possibility. The other one I had there is a book. And that’s reasonably straightforward. You write a book, you can get it loaded onto Amazon, and there’ll be other places as well. Based on my experience, do a physical copy, do an audio copy as well, and you will keep getting deposits.

The third one that I put there is a Device. And what I’m thinking of a friend of mine created a device in dentistry that, for example, which could be used to show patients of particular dental conditions. And it’s like a little model now you could be a model, you could be a device that could be something as healthcare professionals, there’d be lots of things you could create, get it built, and then have someone you know sell it for you in the same way that Amazon selling these books for me, and then have those little deposits into your bank account every month. Wouldn’t that be nice? The gift that keeps giving.
