Are you looking after the most important people in your practice? Now the truth is, I’m in Mexico at the moment. And I was reading a study recently that I thought was very interesting. It talked about people when they hit 55. Now, by some definitions 55 and over, is a senior. And what the study found is that when people hit 55, that’s when the number one priority in their life becomes their health.

So you know, up until that point, they’re thinking about other things. But at 55, I’m not saying absolutely everybody, but that was the for that group 55 and older, the number one priority is their health. Now, the truth is for you as dentists, then you’ve got a real opportunity to get into that space. And this happens to be the most profitable group. And I’ll tell you why.

Firstly, you’re entering into a conversation that’s already going on in their head. And if you can speak into that, then you know, that’s half the battle done. That’s the first thing. The second thing is that when people are that age, chances are if they’ve had kids, the kids are probably grown up. And they’re probably at the best time financially in their life, they’ve got money. And then the third thing is that when people are in their mid 50s, chances are, that’s a time when they need some more serious dental work done.

So it’s kind of the perfect trifecta, I suppose. They’ve got a health conversation in their mind. They’ve got more money than ever, and they’ve got more dental needs than ever. And so my question to you is, what are you doing for your 55 plus at your practice, and one of the simplest things to do is to survey them, just ask them, you know, even just two simple questions like what are you most concerned about now in terms of your health? And how can we be a part of a solution for you? Because if you can tap into that group, you know, if I can say this, all patients are not created the same. And if you can tap into that group that can make a massive difference.
