The mindset that changed how I live my life.
Have you ever wondered about the connection between mindset and success? Well, let me tell you what’s worked for me.
My mentor, Tai Lopez, talks about the good life as being health, wealth, love, and happiness. Against those criteria, you could argue I’m a success. In my 50s, I’ve run a marathon and the fastest 5Ks of my life. In terms of wealth, the truth is, I don’t really need to work anymore. In terms of love, I’ve been married to the same woman for over 30 years. Hopefully, all of those things add up to reasonable happiness.
So, do you want to know what the mindset is? Well, here it is: I didn’t feel like doing it, but I did it anyway.
The truth is, in all of those areas, there have been times when I haven’t felt like doing it. When I’m running or lifting weights, there are moments I just don’t feel like it. In my business, there are tasks I need to do, but I just don’t feel like it. Even in my relationship with my wife, there are things I know I should do, but I just don’t feel like it.
But because of that mindset—I didn’t feel like it, but I did it anyway—over time, all those small actions have added up to something significant.
Maybe they can for you too.
