Could you lose 30% of your body weight?
Hi, everyone. Angus Pryor here, multi award winning practice growth specialist. You ever seen the show alone the Australian series at the time, recording just finished the series. And the way that the show works, it’s reality TV. They get 10 contestants who are experts at surviving in the wild, they get sent to a remote area. They’re only allowed to take 10 things with them, not including food, and what they’ve got to do for themselves is survive, and basically, the person that stays the longest wins. Now they’ve got a walkie talkie or a sac phone or something, and they can tap out at any point, and indeed, sometimes the guys are medically evacuated. But in the most recent series, the winner, I think, they got to about 65 days, something like that. Some people tapped out after three or four days. But there was one guy who lost 30% of his body weight during the show in about two months, 30% so I’m about six foot tall, 183 centimeters. I mean, if I were to lose 30% of my body weight, that would put me at about 60 kilos, which would be something like what you’d expect if someone was about half a foot shorter than me. It’s an incredible amount.
Now, why could this guy go to such strenuous efforts? By the way, he tapped out. He wasn’t medically evacuated. And the answer is because he was super clear on his goal. He didn’t win. By the way, it was $250,000 cash. But he was like, I’ll do anything to get to that, you know, for us for goal setting in business, one of the challenges I face, and I see is that it’s like our goals are not that specific, and therefore we won’t do whatever it takes to get there. It’s like, I just want to grow, I just want to be comfortable. But if that’s the case, you won’t do what it takes. So the more specific you can get on the goals, the more extraordinary the things you can do to get there See you next time you.
