Is Your Business as Chaotic as Auskick?
I moved to Victoria a few years ago, and this is Auskick, which is lots of kids running around with footballs. And you know, as you can imagine, with four and five year olds and some older kids, it’s a bit of a dog’s breakfast. But the truth is that what I’m seeing over there with these kids is not enormously different to what can happen in business very easily. I heard it said that business never becomes better organised by accident. I want you to think about that. Like, as business grows, as your practice grows, it doesn’t fall into being better organised, it has to be deliberately crafted that way, and there are so many moving parts.
I’ve heard some people suggest that you could have as many as 100 systems in a business and I can assure you, if you hope that these are just going to happen, they won’t. Because the alternative is you get something like this over my shoulder, which is lots of kids running around, not particularly coordinated. It’s a lot of fun, but it doesn’t produce a great result. See you next time.
