Winning In Business: Take The Easy Path And Catch That Wave

This week on Winning In Business, Angus Pryor the #1 Google-ranked dental marketer in Australia will be sharing with you about taking the easy path and catching that wave – examples of how you can catch the wave.

Take the easy path and catch that wave. And I’ve been thinking about a business principle, you know, for your business to be successful. In my mind, I mean, there are many variables. But in simple terms, you can do it the easy way, or the hard way. And for me, I’m always looking for the easy way, I don’t mean that we’re cutting corners. But if I can make it easy and do something that’s still ethical and works, then why not.

And therefore, one of the things you want to be doing is catching a wave. Now what I mean by that, it’s so much easier to get somebody to do something, if there’s already a wave of interest for that, then you just, you know, as it were, get on your surfboard in front of the wave and just ride the wave in.

As the news bulletin arrived. In my inbox this week, in my post box, I happen to see a couple of waves that you could catch. The first one is at the end of May, is world no tobacco day. And for me, that is it, there’s a wave, you know, there’s already going to be a bunch of media about it, what a great opportunity for you to insert yourself into that conversation.

Now, if it was me, I’d make a little video like this. And I’d say something like surprising links between smoking and your smile. And then you could talk about that. As I flick over the page, a few further pages on I noticed there’s an article about what did they call themselves the periodontal connection.

And a quote from a professor that says, I’m convinced that every patient with diabetes has to be sent by the GP to a dentist, and it would be wonderful if pregnant women would as well. So there are two other examples where you could see one of the great things about being a dentist is that you’ve actually got very good trust in the community as a health care professional, people trust you. And so you could produce some content about diabetes and the connection between diabetes and your smile.

Then you could talk about the connection between pregnancy and your smile. So that would be a little series you could make, you could catch the wave of world no tobacco day and then end up you know, whether it’s three bits of written content or three little videos like this, because it’s so so so much easier to get somebody to, you know, as it were, be interested in something that already topical than to try and create that interest yourself.

I hope that makes sense. I’ve got a little present for you. Would you like 101 ways to attract new patients to your practice? If you visit AngusPryor.com/101-ways. There’s a free report there. That’s 101 ideas for how you can attract new patients to your practice.
