This week on Winning In Business, Angus Pryor Number one Google-ranked dental marketer in Australia and Practice Growth Specialist will be sharing with you about the one thing you need to do to stop pushing away new patients.
I got paid to drive a Porsche twice. Now, this is an absolutely true story. I got paid twice to drive a Porsche and you’re thinking, “Well, how could that happen?” The truth is when I moved to Adelaide, moved from Adelaide to Sydney about eight years ago, I arrived about six months before my family in Sydney and I was a little bit bored. And I thought, “Well, what am I going to do with my spare time?’
And so what I did was, I registered as a mystery shopper. Have you ever heard of a mystery shopper? It’s a, where a business will pay you to go and pretend to be a shopper and whether that’s finding them or visiting the store or getting on their website and then you provide a report of your experience. And the business uses that feedback to try and improve their own service. And indeed for you as a dental practice, that’s something I strongly recommend you do.
Now, I registered with a bunch of different companies for this. And some were better than others. I think the worst one I did was I went to Bunnings. I had to go and buy something. And our go to keep that thing but all I got to pay for it like, wow. And I think I got paid $5 to fill in a report for that. But eventually, probably because of my demographic profile, they said, “Oh, this guy is the right age, you know?” Mid forties as I was then. You know, I don’t, whatever. And they said, “We want you to go and do a mystery shopper on Porsche.” And I got paid a few hundred dollars to literally go and test drive a Porsche.
It was great fun. Look, and they got their pound of flesh. I had to write practically an essay afterwards about the experience. But it happened once, and then I did it again. Now, as I say, for you and your practice what I recommend you do is get someone to do that for you. Because, when you’re working in the business, there’s a lot of stuff you don’t notice. And yet, it could be these very subtle things that you or your team’s doing inadvertently that are really pushing away new patients.
Now, speaking of new patients, I’ve got an offer for you. We’ve got a free report, which is, it’s 101 ways to attract new patients. If you visit anguspryor.com/101-ways, then that’s a free report that would be my gift to you.
