I left my laptop on the plane!

I left my laptop on the plane.

Hi everyone, Angus Pryor here. Number one, Google ranked dental marketers in Australia.

Now I’m going to tell you a story because I did leave my laptop on the plane. And at the end of this, I’m going to tell you what happens. But before we get to that, I wanted to talk to you about the business lesson here. Because there is a key business lesson here.

Firstly, just be aware, I do have a bit of a history in this space, Are you a person who leaves things behind? I’ve been a lot better in recent times. But yesterday, the flight was delayed by an hour and a half.
I had had four hours of sleep the night before, I’d been in Canberra and slept terribly. And so and by the time the flight got home, it was in the evening, it was dark outside, and I was not feeling great. And I was like “Get me off this plane so I can get home.” And by the way, my home is an hour and a half drive away from the airport. So that’s what I did.

But here’s the business lesson I wanted to talk to you about. And then I’ll tell you what happened. By the way, just a laptop, I’ve left wallets, on trains, I’ve left phones on planes, and a range of other things.
This is the business lesson when someone’s got a bit of a crisis. And they need help from you. What I would call the pendulum of their experience can be vast, the difference between being sort of happy and unhappy, it’s in the crisis, and the level of gratitude and thanks goes to a 10 out of 10 or 20 out of 10. But if you get it wrong, the level of disconnect, the level of unhappiness can be a 10 out of 10 or 20, they can be really, really grateful to you. Or they can be really, really unhappy.

And for me in business, if someone’s in a bit of a crisis situation. And there’s any way you can help them even if it’s really inconvenient, or you don’t feel like or whatever else, then like I do it now.
You’re not always going to get a great result from them. But the fact is that they will be super appreciative if they’re in that crisis. And often what they’re going to do is they’re going to tell other people, which is like what I’m doing now.

So you know, instead of my story of what happened well, here I am, and there is my laptop. I’ve got to back this is recorded on the day before an Easter long weekend. super grateful to Virgin thank you so much. I really appreciate it. And for you and your business if you find someone in need and take the opportunity to give you that extra service because their level of appreciation should go way up and definitely it increases the chance they’re going to tell other people about it.

Catch you next time.
